Practical and necessary for livestock management as they are, cattle panels may not seem like they’re that versatile. Truthfully, though, cattle panels can be very useful for a number of purposes around your property. So if you’ve got some extra panels you’re wanting to put to good use, here are four more ways to use them!

1. Hay Feeder

Grab some pieces of scrap wood and use them to construct a hay feeder in your barn, using the cattle panel to retain the hay inside.

2. Show Barn Conversion

Need to make a show barn for a local fair? Put up some T-posts and lash cattle panels between them so that you can make separate enclosures for multiple animals.

3. Animal Shelter

If you want to protect your animals from the weather, you can gently bend some cattle panels and cover them with a tarp to create a shelter over the watering trough to keep your cows safe in rain or snow. You can also use cattle panels as a good foundation for a chicken run that keeps predators at bay.

4. Garden Trellis

If you’ve got a small backyard garden, you can use cattle panels as garden trellises for vines to climb up, including beans, squashes, and cucumbers.
